RoboCop Heads Back to Theaters for 30th Anniversaryzoom in

Our favorite robot cop is ready to protect and serve again. Today is the 30th anniversary of the release of the 1987 classic RoboCop, and to celebrate, director Paul Verhoeven’s film is returning to theaters for a one-night event. Man, I feel old.

Sponsored by Birth.Movies.Death, SYFY and Alamo Drafthouse, the RoboCop event will be broadcast live on September 10th to theaters around the US from Dallas City Hall, which was originally used by the production team as OCP Headquarters. Yes, Dallas stood in for Detroit, if you can believe it. If you live in Dallas there will be food trucks, a full bar with RoboCop-themed drinks and photo ops. It sounds like a fun time. There will also be a special Q&A with actor Peter Weller after the screening.

You can get ticket information here. Happy birthday RoboCop. I remember the day you were born.
