Wakanda is Exposed in the First Black Panther Teaser

Our first substantial glimpse of Ryan Coogler’s (Fruitvale Station, Creed) Black Panther holds a lot of promise. Everything looks bright, colorful and beautiful. We don’t know a lot about the movie’s story yet, but it appears to take place mainly in T’Challa’s homeland, the secretive and high-tech nation of Wakanda. It appears that in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Wakanda’s front is that it’s a poor African country, even though it’s actually a prosperous and highly advanced land. But a group of bad guys figured out how to get in to the real Wakanda, forcing the Black Panther to take action.

Aside from Chadwick Boseman, the movie also stars the talented Michael B. Jordan as the Black Panther’s nemesis, Killmonger. The cast also includes Star Wars and Queen of Katwe star Lupita Nyong’o, The Walking Dead heroine Danai Gurira, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, Andy Serkis and Martin Freeman. The movie premieres on February 16, 2018.
