Rogue One Director Gareth Edwards on the Darth Vader Scene

by Lambert Varias

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story‘s director Gareth Edwards recently spoke with Wired about how they came up with the scene where Darth Vader mows down a bunch of rebel soldiers. Or rather, how they almost didn’t come up with it: Edwards admits that not only wasn’t the scene not in the original script, they didn’t think to include it until just 4 months before the movie was released. Edwards also talked about Vader’s moves in the scene, his all-important cameo, and who currently possesses the Death Star plans.

Imagine if Yoda didn’t quit and was able to help out. That scene would’ve been twice as long. Also the original trilogy would’ve been way different.
