Peter Capaldi Officially Leaving Doctor Who
January 31st, 2017

It’s that time again. Time to say goodbye to the latest incarnation of the Doctor. The great Peter Capaldi has officially announced his departure from Doctor Who at the end of the current series. It is sad for anyone who enjoyed his time in the TARDIS. It really stinks that actors seem to be on a 3 year stint and that’s it, regardless of what it means for the storyline. I would really love to see a Doctor have time to grow and evolve.
Of course, Capaldi plays the 12th version of the Doctor. He joined the modern Doctor Who franchies in its eighth season in 2014, and this year’s season 10 will be his last. Apparently, he will leave during the 2017 Christmas Special. As has been known for quite some time, Steven Moffat will leave with him at that time.
Here is what Capaldi had to say about his experience on the show.
One of the greatest privileges of being Doctor Who is to see the world at its best. From our brilliant crew and creative team working for the best broadcaster on the planet, to the viewers and fans whose endless creativity, generosity and inclusiveness points to a brighter future ahead. I can’t thank everyone enough. It’s been cosmic.
