Chewie Speaks English in Rare Star Wars Footage

What is Chewie saying when he roars? Yeah, we get the gist of it due to Han Solo’s reactions and responses. But what is Chewie actaully saying in English? Now we know. This is pretty weird to hear after years of hearing those Wookiee roars after so many years. It is also pretty hilarious.

Peter Mayhew shared this clip of Chewie working on the Millennium Falcon up on Twitter. In it, he is speaking his lines in character. It’s very bizarre, but also kind of cool to think that Chewie has an English accent. I am definitely glad that Lucas went with the Wookiee roars and growls though. Otherwise Mayhew’s voice sounds way too nice.
