This Star Wars Star Destroyer Redesign Is Badass

What artist Rasmus Poulsen has done here is incredible. He has taken the iconic Star Destroyer and truly made it into a warship – a warship that looks a lot like a navy battleship. Picture the opening to A New Hope with this thing capturing the fleeing rebel ship.

I love the design of the Star Destroyer already, but this certainly kicks things up a notch or two. Or five. Poulsen took some inspiration from some of Ralph McQuarrie’s original concepts. Apparently, this is what the ship could have looked like on screen had the design stayed true to an early battleship-inspired kitbashed prototype.

Man, I would love to see this Star Destroyer design show up in a Star Wars movie.
