HAL and Samantha Have a Conversation

What happens when two of the most famous artificial intelligences get together and have a conversation? Let’s put it this way: It sounds like a super creepy dysfunctional relationship between two computers. Listen as 2001: A Space Odyssey’s HAL 9000, and Her’s Samantha get all creepy and weird with each other. I mean the conversation is pretty tame but, it’s just bizarre to hear these two talk to each other.

Reflections of HAL and Samantha is a fun, though disconcerting video is from Tilmann Ohm who selected lines from both characters, and combined them into a surprisingly coherent discussion. I really hope that computers don’t chat together like this in the future. It can’t end well.
