Brooklyn Is Getting a Huge Captain America Statue
July 7th, 2016

Did you know that this year is Steve Rogers’ 75th Birthday? He looks pretty good for his age, and he still kicks butt. His home town of Brooklyn, is celebrating by erecting a giant bronze statue of Captain America in his honor. The 13-foot statue will first appear at San Diego Comic-Con at the end of the month, and then make its journey across America to Prospect Park, Brooklyn, on August 10th for a special dedication ceremony. It is sure to bring a tear to any patriot’s eye.
The statue depicts Cap with his shield raised high, while the base of the statue features a quote from Captain America: The First Avenger – Steve’s retort to Red Skull when asked what makes him so special. Comicave Studios, who designed the statue with Marvel, will also be selling limited edition replicas of the monument through their online store. They will offer up 750 12-inch-tall statues in bronze, along with a smaller run of 35-inch-tall replicas, in pewter.
Happy birthday Cap! You don’t look a day over 74.
