Starship Enterprise Pops up in Rihanna’s Trippy Music Video

by Conner Flynn

The video for Rihanna’s upcoming Star Trek Beyond soundtrack song just premiered in IMAX theaters. That’s because it is the first music video to be shot entirely with IMAX cameras. The video features Rihanna hanging out in space, doing magic stuff and near the end she turns into some kind of celestial god. Of course the Starship Enterprise also makes a brief appearance. It’s trippy, but kind of but cool.

The song, Sledgehammer was written by Sia, and seems an odd song choice for Star Trek though, especially when you think back to the Beastie Boys track selected for the film’s first trailer. It seems like it should be the theme for a James Bond movie. They are making it very hard to figure out the tone of this film, that’s for sure. Enjoy.
