Game of Thrones Intro Gets Recreated with Slime Mold

by Conner Flynn

Everyone knows the Game of Thrones intro by now. It’s one of the most famous intros in recent TV history. Basically an astrolabe spins over the world, giving an impression of order. Of course beneath that perceived order, plots are hatching, organically and mechanically. It is all represented perfectly by this intro. But it could even be better.

Since the series is a story of politics, ruthlessness, murder, incest, the whole thing is pretty disgusting and slimy when you think about it. So using slime mold for the intro is even more apt than the original. YouTube user Transcend Rules merged microscopic images of molds with the opening music from the show and it is pretty fitting. It is a nice organic metaphor for all the nasty business that goes on in Westeros.
