The Force Awakens and A New Hope Compared

by Conner Flynn

I think we can all agree that The Force Awakens was kind of the same movie as A New Hope. I can grudgingly forgive them for this lack of originality just because it was such a mammoth task to bring Star Wars back while still pleasing fans. I still think it’s lazy, but I get it. I’m worried that they will keep doing this, because they don’t have a problem doing it with all of the other movies we see these days. Anyway, check out this side-by-side comparison video from Zachary Antell that highlights the visual parallels between the two films.

I can’t wait to write this same article about the next movie as it mimics Empire shot for shot (I hope not.) At least we got a decent Star Wars movie despite it being basically the same film.
