Life-Sized First Order TIE Fighter Lands at SXSW

Life-Sized First Order TIE Fighter Lands at SXSWzoom in

Not many of us will ever get to see a life-sized TIE Fighter in person, so if TIE Fighters are your thing, (and frankly why wouldn’t they be?) you better hit up this year’s SXSW in Texas. No, that’s not where the First Order is setting up base now, but there will be a perfectly sized First Order TIE Fighter there for you to gawk at. This impressive replica was made by prop building group Project X1.

The group is run by Belgian 501st Legion members, who have a history of building amazing life-size props: since 2011, they’ve constructed two other TIE Fighters: a regular one, and the one flown by Darth Vader. So they know a thing or two about these ships. If you want to see it in person, the prop has been installed at SXSW’s South Bites Trailer Park, and it’s part of a display put on by Disney. It looks pretty awesome if you ask me.
