Star Wars: Episode VIII Cameras Roll

by Paul Strauss

Star Wars: The Force Awakens not only is the biggest blockbuster of all time, but it was a damned good movie that brought back so much of what we love about Star Wars. Director J.J. Abrams did the franchise proud as far as I’m concerned. Now, the torch has been passed to director Rian Johnson (Looper, Breaking Bad) for the as yet unnamed Episode VIII, which has officially started production.

A short video clip was dropped onto the Internet today to celebrate the first day of shooting. There’s really nothing of substance here, but I’m sure every Star Wars fanatic will be poring over the brief couple of seconds of behind the scenes shots as the first shot kicks off looking for clues. I didn’t see anything meaningful, did you?
