Sam Raimi Directs Horror-filled Chevy Commercial

With films like The Evil Dead, The Quick and the Dead, and Army of Darkness under his belt, director Sam Raimi knows a thing or too about making scary movies. Sure, he moved on to more family-friendly blockbusters like Spider-Man and Oz: The Great and Powerful, but he still loves scary stuff too. Raimi’s latest flick isn’t on the big screen though, it’s a 60-second commercial spot he did for Chevrolet.

The spot makes fun of the old trope of wandering around a creepy house, and instead of getting the heck out of the place, staying in and investigating the bad juju inside. As we know, that always works out well.

In the end, the spot is there to promote the safety features on the new 2016 Chevrolet Malibu and Cruze, but it’s really a fun little short. The short will soon turn up as a trailer on the big screen, popping up on over 14,000 screens during its planned 6-month run.
