Terminator: Genisys Sequels May Be CancelledJanuary 22nd, 2016
This will be great news to some and bad news for others, depending on how much you enjoyed Terminator: Genisys. It looks like there will be no more sequels to this movie. Apparently Paramount and Skydance Entertainment’s upcoming T:G sequel, which was supposed to be hit theaters on May 19th, 2017, has been removed from their release schedule. The studio moved the release of the upcoming Baywatch movie in its place. Yeah, that’s not a good sign at all.
Judging from its 25% Tomatometer and 56% Audience scores, most people didn’t like Genisys, so it’s not that big of a surprise. It made $440 million dollars at the box office, but apparently the studios don’t have much faith in the future of the franchise. They haven’t officially said that the movie was cancelled, but what else can we take away from this move? It’s probably for the best, anyway.
