Star Trek Movies Reissued on Blu-ray And DVD

The original Star Trek and The Next Generation movies are getting reissued on Blu-ray and DVD. They will arrive in February and the films will be split between a TOS (6 movies, $50) and a TNG collection (4 movies, $36). They feature new art and the packaging is thinner, but aside from that it doesn’t look like there are any new additions to the actual content.

That’s a bit disappointing since we still lack a Blu-ray of the director’s cut of The Motion Picture. There are a lot of things they could have added for these movies. In fact, both of these sets lack the extra bonus material discs that were included in the 2009 TOS and TNG sets! So yeah, this is a step backwards.
