What Dancing Looks Like in the Future

by Paul Strauss

If you look back at science fiction from the 1950s and 1960s, much of what was anticipated looks rather silly – from the spaceships to the ray guns to the uniforms we’d all be wearing. But I never knew what dancing would look like in the world of tomorrow. Now I do.

Somebody managed to dig up this hilarious video clip from a 1960s German sci-fi series called Raumpatrouille Orion. I haven’t spoken a word of German in about 20 years, so I’m not quite sure what the conversation is about, but that doesn’t really matter. It’s the dancers that keep on moving in the background that will steal 100% of your attention.

So hit play and enjoy some choreography that makes the Elaine dance on Seinfeld look like a Paula Abdul routine.
