Star Trek Beyond: Behind-the-Scenes

As Star Trek fans eagerly await the next installment of the rebooted movies, Access Hollywood has released a new behind the scenes report from the set of Star Trek Beyond. It features interviews with Chris Pine, Simon Pegg, and Karl Urban. There are no huge spoilers or clues here, just the people involved talking about the film.

They basically just confirm what we already know. That by this point the crew are well into their mission, and Kirk trying to figure out what comes next. Also, that during the course of the film, the main characters are separated. Spock and McCoy spend much of the film together, so I’m sure they intend to use that for some comedic moments.

The trailer for Star Trek Beyond was pretty intense, so this may be a departure from the previous movies. The brief glimpse we have seen felt more like a straight-up action movie, which only makes sense with Fast and Furious director Justin Lin behind the camera. Let’s hope that Simon Pegg’s script keeps enough of what makes Star Trek, Star Trek.
