Netflix Developing a Lost in Space Remake

Danger, Will Robinson! Danger! Netflix is remaking the classic Lost in Space TV show. I’m actually excited to see what they do with this, because Netflix has been making top quality shows so far.

This new series is from Dracula Untold writers Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, who will executive-produce with Kevin Burns of Synthesis Entertainment, along with Neil Marshall and Marc Helwig of Legendary TV-based Applebox. Right now it looks like Marshall will direct.

They are describing it as an “epic but grounded science fiction saga focusing on a young explorer family from Earth lost on the other side of the universe and the challenges they face in staying together against seemingly insurmountable odds.”

Yep. That sounds like the old series that we know and love. Except for the grounded part, which is likely a good thing. We don’t need any talking carrot aliens in this version. I only hope they up the ante and do something innovative like Battlestar Galactica did.
