Documentary: The Making of John Carpenter’s The Thing
November 8th, 2015It’s been many years since I’ve seen the 1982 version of The Thing. I really should go back and watch it as it’s such a classic. I really love that movie. A behind the scenes documentary that focuses on John Carpenter’s classic sci-fi horror film recently surfaced over on YouTube.
This documentary is called The Thing: Terror Takes Shape. It was created by Michael Matessino back in 1998. It touches on just about everything you ever wanted to know about the movie, and includes interviews with John Carpenter himself, and members of the cast and crew of the film.
If you are a fan, you will want to check this out. You might want to watch the movie again too. Despite the ample amounts of gore, I first saw this flick as a kid and it was an amazing experience. It was a failure at the box office when it first came out, but it didn’t take long for it to become a cult classic.
Be sure to watch it before the studio yanks it down, as it appears to be out of print, and might be hard to track down again.
