Summer ’78: A Star Wars Short Film

For those of us who grew up during the original Star Wars trilogy, J.C. Reifenberg’s short film titled Summer ’78 will bring back memories. It might even bring a tear to your eye. That kid in the video? That was me. It was you. It was a great time to grow up.

Toys like these never really existed before then. Not in the same way. I remember using stuff like potatoes as asteroids too. I filled small containers with glue and put Han inside so he could get his carbonite freeze. I attached string from one thing to another so my figures could zip-line. Those movies and toys gave millions of kids a magical childhood.

Yes, this film gets captures all that perfectly. Pay attention to the ending. It’s awesome.
