Saving Joule: A Sci-Fi Short About Renewable Energy

by Paul Strauss

Saving Joule is a short animated film about a charming little robot stranded on a strange planet, and whose ship is left without power. His quest leads him on a colorful and thrilling journey to locate new sources of energy to power his ship. In this trailer for the film, we get a brief glimpse at a wonderful world created by the guys at UK’s Trunk Animation and Peepshow Collective.

I was immediately hooked by the animation and illustration style, and it makes me want to see more of what happens to the characters, and what sort of power sources they come up with. Unfortunately, the only way we’ll get to find out will be to visit the Mishkat Centre for Renewable Energy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, who is exclusively playing the short film.
