Make A DeLorean out of Soda Cans
August 3rd, 2015We can’t all own an actual DeLorean DMC-12, but we can make a small replica for our desk. That’s what Dave Hax did. He made a tiny replica of the iconic ’80s car out of Pepsi cans. Makes sense, since Pepsi sponsored the Back to the Future films. Dave also likes Pepsi because the cans are made from steel (at least in the UK), which is stiffer than aluminum for sculpting.
The completed car was embellished with permanent markers, some foam and wires to complete the bits and bobs on the vehicle. If you jump to about 4:30, in the video, you can grab images of the templates you’ll need to make your own. It looks like a fairly straightforward project that shouldn’t be too hard. And once you are done you will have a cool replica DeLorean for your desk. I love all of the detail he was able to get just by using cans.
