The Ramones Set to Rock Riverdale

The last time I checked in with Archie and the gang in Riverdale, they were about to do battle with the deadly Sharknado. While that pop culture conflation was certainly nothing I ever expected to see, the latest special guest scheduled to appear in an Archie comic book is even less likely – and in my opinion, a lot cooler.
This time, punk icons The Ramones are coming to rock Riverdale! The one-off book is pegged to the 75th anniversary of Archie and the 40th Anniversary of The Ramones and will come out next year. There aren’t many details about what transpires in the story but you can get one great hint from the cover – Archie is on stage sitting in with the band, ripping a power chord on what looks to be a slick blonde Telecaster as the rest of the boys tear it up around him. How did he score that sweet gig? You’ll have to wait to fund out.
There is one thing about the cover that bothers me – all of the Ramones, especially Joey, look way too handsome. As they say, that just ain’t punk.
