Remote-Controlled R2-D2 Quadcopter

by Conner Flynn

San Diego-based R/C builder Otto Dieffenbach of Flyguy Promotions loves to build all kinds of crazy flying ships. One of his latest is this high-flying custom remote-controlled quadcopter that looks like R2-D2. This thing is awesome, but I’m glad that Lucas never allowed this little droid to fly through the skies.

This thing looks like you would expect it to look in flight, like a flying trashcan that was launched into the air. If you want to see more of his work, Dieffenbach will be showing off his collection of custom remote-controlled creations at SDCC 2015. They include a TARDIS and Snoopy on his doghouse.
