Fan-made Live Action 1973 Super Friends Intro

by Lambert Varias

YouTuber BlamCo recreated the opening sequence to the original Super Friends cartoon using characters and clips from live action movies. He used Christopher Reeve in the 1978 Superman film as the Man of Steel, Adam West and Burt Ward as Batman and Robin from the late ’60s Batman TV show and Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman from the eponymous late ’70s TV show.

BlamCo had to get creative for the rest of the team. For Aquaman, he recast Sam J. Jones’ Flash Gordon from the 1980 film of the same name. For the junior Super Friends, Wendy, Marvin and Wonder Dog, BlamCo turned to the heroes of the 2002 Scooby Doo film. I find it funny that of all the characters, it was the dog that ended up being CGI.

He then ended up completing a circle by using the Cincinnati Museum Center as the live action Hall of Justice. As you may know the Super Friends’ headquarters was in fact based on the museum. Check out the real Super Friends intro below courtesy of YouTuber THX1968:
