Star Trek: The Next Generation Coins

The Perth Mint Australia has revealed their second set of Star Trek coins, this time it’s a TNG pair that features Captain Picard and the USS Enterprise-D. These follow the previous TOS coins, and are part of a series of five releases, which will likely focus on all five of captains and their ships. They look absolutely lovely and make me greedy as a Ferengi for latinum.

These coins have a face value of one dollar, but do NOT spend them in Tuvalu, where they are legal tender. They are worth far more since they’ve been struck in silver. Each coin is available separately in an an illuminated display case, or together in a transporter room inspired case. Awesome. And so shiny! They make my lobes ache.
