Batkid Begins (Trailer)

by John Thomas

You’d have to be a heartless Grinch not to tear up when you hear some of the amazing stories that come out of the Make-a-Wish Foundation. But a new trailer for a documentary about a young boy whose wish became reality may want to make you cheer more than cry.

The doc, titled Batkid Begins, chronicles the story of a 5-year-old with Leukemia named Miles whose hero is Batman. His father explains that his son gravitated toward the Caped Crusader because, “He sees the good vs. evil battle in superheroes. I want to be the real Batman was his exact wish.”

And that wish came true big time. The film depicts the time in November of 2013 when San Fran morphed into Gotham City just for Miles. Decked out in an awesome costume and accompanied by a life-size Batman sidekick, he cruised through the city in his own rad Batmobile (complete with car seat) busting bad guys, including saving a woman from the clutches of The Joker. The story went viral, and even the Prez weighed in with an online video thanking Miles for saving Gotham City.

The film is set to debut in theaters on June 26, and if the trailer is any indication, the film should be about as feel good as it gets.
