Adam Savage Builds Perfect Captain Kirk’s Chair

by Conner Flynn

The latest video from Adam Savage’s One Day Builds features Adam building an almost perfect replica of Captain Kirk’s chair from the original Star Trek. It even has working lights and sound effects. Well, they were supposed to wire it in one day, but it took longer. The chair itself actually took several weeks to build.

Why did he undertake this epic task? Well, he bought a supposed replica online and wasn’t happy with it at all. So he decided to build his own. As usual, Adam does a fantastic job. This Command chair is everything a Trekkie could want. He added some storage underneath to hold his various Star Trek toys, like phasers and tricorders. He also added that weird communication thing from the pilot episode.
