A Look at the Godzilla View Hotel Rooms in Tokyo
April 16th, 2015A few months ago we heard about Hotel Gracery’s plan to install a large Godzilla head outside its upcoming Tokyo branch. The company recently opened its doors to the media ahead of its April 24 launch. Here’s news agency Jiji’s quick tour of the hotel’s Godzilla Viewing Rooms.
It turns out that only six of the hotel’s rooms have been designated to as Godzilla Viewing Rooms. Aside from the up close view of the King of the Monsters, five of the rooms look otherwise normal, although they come with Godzilla-themed goodies. One room received an extra special treatment. It has a large statue of Godzilla inside, and even has a scale model of the hotel itself beside the monster. The kaiju’s paw also appears to burst from the wall above the bed, and there’s a gallery of Godzilla movie posters on one of the room’s walls.
You can try and reserve a room at Hotel Gracery’s website – from my understanding the rooms cost ¥15,000 (~$125 USD) a night – but the page is all in Japanese, so good luck with that. You can also check out more shots of the rooms on RocketNews24.
