Post-Apocalyptic Peanuts

So what would happen if the world ended and the last known survivors roaming the planet were cartoon characters? Illustrator Max Dunbar, inker Vitali Iakovlev and colorist Sean Ellery created this amazing image which envisions Charlie Brown and Snoopy at the end of the world. This is what would have happened if Cormac McCarthy took over writing duties for Charles Schulz. Did you ever see The Road? Man, was that bleak.

I’d love to see these guys do a whole series of post-apocalyptic cartoon characters now. I can already envision Calvin and Hobbes fighting off zombies, and Nancy and Sluggo rummaging through dumpsters for food.
