Nerd Court Starring Jonathan Frakes

by Conner Flynn

Forget The People’s Court. Forget Divorce Court. Nerd Court is the exciting modern day equivalent to these shows your grandma watches. In this courtroom drama, geeks do battle in the way that geeks do. For instance in the most recent episode, two Trekkies debate whether Commander William T. Riker of Star Trek: The Next Generation is a great leader or not. Nerds! This is exactly how it is every week during D&D night at my house.

Actor Jonathan Frakes himself shows up to defend the reputation of Riker. If you want to skip straight to the end, hit the 6:26 mark and watch as he enters and does the Riker Maneuver, then gets sworn in by the Vulcan bailiff. Honestly, Riker’s first season acting is what should be on trial here. Still, it’s nice to see Frakes looking fit. Maybe now that this debate is settled, we can get Wesley on trial for being an all around jackass and know it all.
