Return of the Jedi Deleted Scene: “The Sandstorm”

I love seeing deleted scenes from classic movies. Recently we saw a deleted scene from Return of the Jedi where Luke completes his lightsaber and now we have another deleted scene from the same movie. In this scene, after destroying Jabba’s barge, the heroes make their escape in the middle of a Tatooine sandstorm and make their way to the Millennium Falcon, and Luke leaves the group for his X-Wing.

There are a couple of minutes of less interesting scenes at the beginning of the video, so you can skip to the 3:00 mark if you want to jump right to the action. It’s a great scene, but you can see why it was cut. It really doesn’t add much to the movie or the flow of the plot. However it is still a joy to see it and get a glimpse at what the movie makers were thinking.
