The Interfaces of Star Wars: A New Hope

by Conner Flynn

Despite being released in 1977, the tech in Star Wars is still to this day, way better than we have on our world. It does take place in a galaxy far, far away after all and is not part of our own history. This fun video highlights all of the user interfaces from Episode IV. Everything from doors to buttons and screens and more – every user interface in the movies.

Lucas did a great job imagining what UIs would be like in the future. More accurately, he did a great job at seing how these things would evolve. That’s not an easy task when you are making a movie in 1977.
