Update: “Rogue Cut” of X-Men: Days of Future Past

We had already heard that Fox was releasing a special “Rogue Cut” of X-Men: Days of Future Past in 2015, but we haven’t heard anything new for a while now. Well, now we have some good news. Of course you can always watch the theatrical cut which has been available on DVD and Blu-Ray for a while, but many of us want to see the version restore the scenes involving Rogue. I know that she has always been one of my favorites, so I for one can not wait.
This cut includes a huge prison break and also led to some heavy structural changes to the second half of the movie. As you can imagine, it must have taken quite a bit to edit her out of the movie because of time and that’s why we haven’t heard anything. I guess it has taken some time to put it all back together.
The news is that Fox is putting together a standalone Blu-ray set for the “Rogue Cut,” which will have its own unique special features separate from the theatrical cut. It is a “complimentary” release to the main film, and should hit Blu-ray and other digital platforms this summer.
