Leonard Nimoy’s Vintage Y2K Video

by Conner Flynn

Thank god we got through new years eve and entered 2015 without any technological bugs throwing us into an apocalypse. If you remember 15 years ago, far too many people who should have known better believed that the Y2K computer glitch could collapse our infrastructure and cripple every slightly outdated computer on the planet. It was a period when many briefly capitalized on the issue by offering tips and tricks to try and explain it. Heck, there were entire businesses built on remediating the Y2K bug.

This piece of rather silly Y2K history comes from The Y2K Family Survival Guide, a book that included a VHS tape hosted by Leonard Nimoy. That had to make people feel better, knowing that Spock had their back. Now you can enjoy the one-hour video designed to help us prepare and allay our fears of what could have happened on January 1, 2000.
