CARL: Animated Sci-Fi Short Film

A robotic gladiator named Carl takes on “Space Jesus” and that’s just the beginning of this short animated film by Hungarian director Márk Juhász. Things escalate quickly, and Carl must save his love from a battle arena filled with deadly foes.

The plot is a little abstract at times – I didn’t quite get the human memory bit – but the cel-shaded style of the animation is great, and the scene where Carl takes down all of his enemies in one fell swoop is pretty awesome too.
