Alien Outpost (Trailer)
December 19th, 2014Alien Outpost is an upcoming IFC Midnight release, directed by Jabbar Raisani, Visual Effects Supervisor for Game of Thrones, Machete, and Predators, among others. The film is a “hostile aliens invade Earth, soldiers fight aliens to save what remains” genre pic. That said, it looks pretty impressive from the trailer. Certainly, the visuals look great.
Two documentary cameramen embedded in an army unit in the most hostile place on Earth, an outpost surrounded by the last remaining alien fighters (Heavies) of an invading attack force. The world may have forgotten about the Outposts, but the Heavies are planning the second invasion of Earth and the soldiers are the only ones who can stop it.
While there aren’t any big Hollywood stars in the film, it does star Adrian Paul, who was pretty great as Duncan MacLeod in the 1990s Highlander TV series. Though for some reason, I don’t think he’s immortal in this film. Keep an eye out in early 2015 for Alien Outpost. It’s slated for release in select theaters on January 30th.
