Wes Anderson’s The Force Awakens

by Paul Strauss

Last week’s release of the teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens not only set the internet on fire, it spawned countless parodies. One of the more amusing take-offs on the trailer is this one by Jonah Feingold – in which he imagines what the next Star Wars movie might look like if it were Wes Anderson behind the camera.

While J.J. Abrams source material doesn’t have the sort of composition and symmetry of Anderson’s work, the addition of minimalist typography, pretentious French music and the occasional unnecessary article (“The Star Wars”) certainly helps get the point across.
