Wes Anderson’s The Force Awakens

by Paul Strauss

Last week’s release of the teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens not only set the internet on fire, it spawned countless parodies. One of the more amusing take-offs on the trailer is this one by Jonah Feingold – in which he imagines what the next Star Wars movie might look like if it were Wes Anderson behind the camera.

While¬†J.J. Abrams source material doesn’t have the sort of composition and symmetry of Anderson’s work, the addition of minimalist typography, pretentious French music and the occasional unnecessary article (“The Star Wars”)¬†certainly helps get the point across.
