First Trailer for George Lucas’ Strange Magic
November 24th, 2014George Lucas may no longer own Star Wars, but that doesn’t mean that Lucasfilm isn’t working on other projects. In fact, it’s probably for the best that he moves on to other properties, considering the controversy he created with the prequels.
Lucas wrote and came up with the idea for the upcoming CGI animated film Strange Magic. The idea is that Lucas wanted to make a beautiful fairy tale with goblins and elves. The plot is inspired by William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and populated with 1950s and ’60s pop songs sung by cast members Alan Cumming, Evan Rachel Wood, Kristin Chenoweth and Maya Rudolph.
Check out the trailer and judge for yourself if it is an instant classic or not. Did he succeed in making a classic fairy tale? We will know when we get to watch the film when it’s released in theaters on January 23, 2015.
