Gremlins Ice Cube Trays: Don’t Get Them Wet?

So the rules of keeping a mogwai are simple: 1) don’t expose them to bright light; 2) don’t get them wet; and 3) don’t feed them past midnight. Breaking any of these cardinal rules will result in infestation, Mogwai death or flat out chaos. So I find it odd that they’re now making a set of Gremlins silicone ice cube trays. After all, you can’t make ice without water (and don’t start geeking out something about liquid nitrogen, molecular gastronomists.) Even if you decide to make candy or chocolate in these things, you’ll be getting them wet. And in a way, you’re feeding them too. Seems like a bad idea to me.

But if you’re willing to take the risk that your fridge will soon be overflowing with a plethora of mogwai, then you can find them over at Japan’s Kotobukiya for ¥1,000 (~$9 USD) each. Choose from Gizmo or Stripe, but no matter what, don’t fill the Stripe one after midnight.
