Running the Gamamtar

by Paul Strauss

I love a good monster movie as much as the next guy. And with the exception of last Summer’s godawful Godzilla remake, most of these films are all about the monsters and the destruction. But in the case of Joe Kramer’s Running the Gammatar, the story is about two people trying to work out their relationship in the midst of the monsterpocalypse, and the ugly-ass, fire-breathing Kaiju destroying the city has been relegated to the role of a background player.

It’s a hilariously offbeat short film, well worth 10 minutes of your time today.
