Intrigued by the history of NASA’s space missions? Then you’ll want to head on over to SoundCloud (or scroll down) right now, to listen to soundbites sampled from the agency’s many years of space flight. The clips range from actual mission sounds, like Neil Armstrong’s famous “That’s One Small Step for a Man” speech, to JFK’s “We Choose to Go to the Moon,” and Apollo 13’s “Houston, We’ve Had a Problem.”

You’ll also find sounds like the roar of a Space Shuttle engine on takeoff to the “heartbeat” beep of the Sputnik space probe. You can listen to some of the sound samples below:
