23 Minute Alien Featurette with Ridley Scott

by Conner Flynn

I know that a lot of people didn’t like Prometheus, but I thought it was a great movie. My reasons are many, and I won’t go into it here. Well, if you were disappointed, this bit of classic Alien goodness may help you to feel better. This is a rare 23-minute Alien featurette recorded in 1979. The footage includes interviews with Ridley Scott, artist H.R. Giger, actors Sigourney Weaver and Tom Skerritt, and producers Gordon Carroll and David Giler.

Sadly, the video quality is quite poor, but we should just be thankful that it has survived at all. These vintage interviews are fascinating. At the time the movie was still in production, and they had no way of knowing that it would become the classic it is today.
