Every Star Wars Death: Episodes IV-VI

by Paul Strauss

While the original Star Wars trilogy was devoid of the sort of blood and guts we’re used to seeing in today’s action and adventure films, the movies weren’t exactly peaceful. Here, Digg compiles ever single on-screen death scene (sorry Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru) from A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, in order of occurrence.

From Han shooting first, to countless stormtroopers plunging to their demise, to exploding Porkins, to Boba Fett’s visit to the bottom of the Sarlacc pit, to the genocide of the entire planet of Alderaan, this “family friendly” sci-fi classic franchise is about as fast and loose with the lives of secondary characters as the NPCs in your average first-person shooter.

And yes, I’m not sure what the deal is with the musical selection either.
