2001: A Space Odyssey: Re-Release Trailer

Stanley Kubrick’s classic 2001: A Space Odyssey is headed back to theaters in the UK thanks to the British Film Institute’s science fiction festival. To celebrate the relaunch of this monumental science fiction film, they’ve created an updated trailer, which you can check out now. While the new trailer does a great job highlighting some of the great moments from Kubrick’s masterpiece for fans, I have to say it’s a little too slick and hyperbolic for its own good.

If you ask me, the original trailer did a better job portraying the minimalism and isolation of the film – without giving away any spoilers. Check out how 2001 was pitched to audiences back in 1968, you can watch the original trailer below:
