Shatner and Nimoy Star in a Volkswagen Commercial
October 14th, 2014If you are Volkswagen and you want people to think of your electric cars as high-tech and cool, what do you do? Well, obviously you hire William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy to star in a commercial – like this German language commercial, which recently premiered.
It shows a young Trekkie’s wish coming true when Shatner moves into his neighborhood and befriends him. They head off for a ride in their Volkswagen e-Golf, and along the way they encounter Nimoy in hs futuristic VW XL1. The behind-the-scenes video below shows Shatner hanging out in the kid’s room and talking about all of the Star Trek toys and collectibles on display. These are some great moments here.
