The Shift: Retro Short Film

by Paul Strauss

In this retro-influenced short film by Francesco Calabrese a man comes home to greet his wife, but all is not right. It turns out that she’s been replaced by a strange doppelgänger in this horror/sci-fi film which borrows from classics like Invasion of the Body Snatchers and The Stepford Wives.

Set in 1964, film is shot in Cinerama style widescreen format, so you’ll want to watch it in full screen for maximum impact. While the acting and dialogue isn’t exactly stellar, the stylistic choices, cinematography and editing come together to create a compelling film that leaves you wanting more in the end.
