After seeing these images, I can only say, “Wow!” Like many shows in the 1960s, Star Trek was a very colorful and beautiful show. These days, you won’t see that much color on the screen. They really built sets and shows like colorful paintings in those days. So, I have always wondered what this beautiful show would look like in widescreen.

But taking a show that was aired in the 4:3 aspect television ratio and turning it into widescreen is no easy task. And transforming them into 2.59:1 Cinerama format is even trickier. Thankfully, Nick Acosta has done some hard work to show us what it might look like. He used some HD screen caps to stitch together some impressive widescreen shots. And just look at how lovely they are. It gives the show an all new epic scope. Check out some of the shots below.
