Game of Thrones: ’60s Style
September 7th, 2014Game of Thrones already has a pretty awesome opening credit sequence. Between the 3-dimensional, mechanical models of Westeros and the epic theme song by Ramin Djawadi, it’s an opening I still watch every week, even though I could fast forward on my DVR. But what if the show were made back in the 1960s? Designer Milan R. Vuckovic envisions just that in this animation, which pays tribute to the classic credit style of the late Saul Bass, combined with an appropriate sixties themed version of the music, recorded by Scott Bradlee and Dave Koz.
Now what would the cast have worn back in the sixties? I’m thinking lots of berets and flared pants. Maybe some tie-dyed shirts too. And speaking of Saul Bass, why not take a few minutes out of your busy day to see the master at work?…
